Sausage and Egg Casserole (i.e., JJ's Egg Bake)

Ingredients


  • 1.5 lbs. bulk sausage
  • 12 eggs
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp dry mustard
  • 12 slices bread, cubed
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. In a skillet brown and crumble sausage. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl beat eggs. Add milk, salt, and mustard.
  3. Stir in bread cubes, cheese and sausage.
  4. Pour into a greased 9 X 13 pan.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  6. Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking.
  7. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
